Ryan Murphy from The Gamers’ Inn (and other shows) stops by the cafe with good geeky intentions. Enter the coffee and wedding rat hole. On the other side, we do touch on our first impressions of iOS7, some slick Shattered tunes from Eric Van Skyhawk, and the Grand Theft Auto V media ruckus.

I love the show and usually listen to it the day it shows in my feed. I apologize that my first comment comes off as a criticism, but I just couldn’t sit by.
Full disclosure, I work for the Berkeley Ecology Center. It’s a Bay Area non-profit focused on the environment.
You guys mentioned Keurig single cup coffee makers, you may want to read the following article:
http://www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/waste-the-dark-side-of-the-new-coffee-craze/Content?oid=3687220
Essentially, the packaging for those single cup coffee mixtures can’t be recycled or composted. If wide-spread adoption continues, this could really add to our already pressing environmental problems. Compound that with the high price point per cup of coffee and those Keurig single cups just don’t make much sense.
French press FTW!
Thanks for the reply Lorigga! I wasn’t sure about the recycling of the Keurig coffee capsules. We really appreciate the info. I’ll be sure to mention it on the next show. – J
