What is The Citadel Cafe?
Just about every week, Joel, Paton and Chad sit down and chat about what media they’ve been devouring. Why do you care? Because they like sci-fi and fantasy movies, books and comics, and they’re always finding cool stuff online. We came up with the name, The Citadel Cafe by combining the casual nature of the show – like sitting down and chatting at a cafe – where we’re from, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and something that evoked our favourite types of entertainment, sci-fi and fantasy.
Joel Duggan
Cartoonist, Illustrator, Animator, Podcaster. Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada.
Joel draws Starcrossed a weekly comic strip, hosts and produces The Citadel Cafe and is a regular co-host on Comics Coast to Coast on the FrogPants network.
Paton Francis.
Animator, illustrator, husband and father. Paton was born a number of years ago in a faraway, magical place called Newfoundland. Paton has been pursuing art as a vocation for most of his life. In 2011 he started my own company, Cardboard Treehouse – Animation & Illustration.
